Natural Hair

When it comes to natural hair I think a lot of people feel its hard to maintain and style, but that’s not true using the right products that works best on your hair will help grow, and maintain length. I have had my experiences with my hair when I became natural 4 years ago I did not know anything about hair and what I should do to it. I could not comb through my hair and it was really hard to manage. I used a texturizer to make it softer, and I lost my curl pattern. My hair stopped growing and that frustrated me.

Last summer I decided to cut my hair again, but I used a texturizer. It was just frustrating not knowing what to do to your hair. I washed my hair every day, and deep conditioned it. It grew out to my surprise then I did some research this past summer and I became informed about my natural hair. Staying away from things that have petroleum, mineral oil, or sodium sulfates (which most shampoo's have), and I try to be as natural as possible.

Some of the products I use in my hair now are Extra virgin coconut oil (a must have got it at GNC), Extra virgin olive oil, shea butter, grape seed oil, carrot oil, vitamin E oil, Tea tree oil these are just a list of the oils.

Shampoo's and conditioner make sure it is motorizing because you need a mixture of moisture and protein I use are L’Oreal Pro V shampoo and conditioner, Herbal essences condition ( tousle me softly can use as a wash and go really good makes your hair curly, and hello hydration), VO5 (as a pre-poo/pre-conditioner), Giovanni deep moisture condition( they have 2 kinds buy the one you like I prefer this one because it is for damaged hair. My hair is not damaged but I use it just in case and it also has protein in it which is good for the hair), Cantu Shea butter leave in conditioner.

Other products I use when washing my hair is baking soda ( dissolve in water and leave on for about 10 minutes it also dries the hair out so get a oil handy), apple cider vinegar (really good but smells horrible, detangles hair really good), a wide tooth comb (very important and when combing your hair start from top then work your way to the bottom don’t cause stress to the hair or it will fall out), IC Fantasia (Olive oil moisturizing shine serum hair polisher), also if you have to put heat in your hair make sure you protect your hair with an heat protector for me I use IC fantasia hair polisher heat protector (don’t use heat in your hair every time because it will mess with your curl pattern once every 6 month is fine or just do whatever you feel is healthy for your hair).

Gel's I use, but am not a big fan of using gel's just once in a while eco-styler gel and IC fantasia hair polisher styling gel. I also heard that the aloe Vera gel is really good but I have never tried it because I don’t know where to find it.

I just bought some Oyin hand made products I will see how that will work out I can’t say anything about it yet because I have not tried it but people say that they are really good products. (oyinhandmade.com). I am trying hard not to become a product junky it is hard but the less product you put on your hair the less likely you will have a product build-up.

Remember, find out what works best for you hair, because what works on mine might not work on yours also try to deep condition your hair every 2 weeks to repair damaged hair. I use mayo, eggs, cucumbers, and honey. Other people use avocado (blended), flat beer rinse (helps repair damaged hair, and many more stuff I will post a link for that and also will tell you how I mix my face and hair oils some other time.

This is all I got for you and also it is very important to do research, go on Google (type in natural hair), or go on youtube.
